KUTCH BY CPR
Memories of Kutch bring back the excitement of finding a vibrant vision of vast deserts with small scattered mud houses (Bungas) & bright resilient people. The raw mud Bungas caught me by surprise on the inside with its shimmering mirror art, reflective steel pots & colorful bright rugs that stood out in the evening light. The moon rise at the white salt desert was magnificent & sparkled brilliantly like a sea of froth. While women dressed in exuberant colors & mirror embroidered skirts sat sipping tea from saucers. There was magic & colour all around from the kite like fabric on the Shaam-E-Sarhad ceiling to the braided, thatched roofs of Hunnarshala in Bhuj. Flocks of pigeons crowded the old palace ruins that blended into the backdrop. But our journey into the dark night guided by just the North Star was the most thrilling experience that ultimately led us to the scattered Bughas that resounded with celebrations.
